Description

Part of the “Walking in 2020” Series this depicts the scene from the lychgate at St James Church, Alderholt, looking along the gravel through the wildlife churchyard, towards the church. Adapted from a pen and watercolour original my sketchbook, this has bright greens with blues to indicate the long grass and early bluebells that were flowering that day. Date and weather notes are included.

As well as a snapshot of place and time, all the pieces in the series aim to capture a sense of hope and positivity that comes from taking in the local surroundings whilst exploring on foot.
