Brighten up your coat, hat or bag with this large Dorset Button worked in different yarns and ribbon to add texture to each button.
This kit contains all you require to make a large Dorset Button worked on a bangle (approximately 72mm wide), like the one in the illustration (colours will change).
This Dorset Button uses the Cartwheel design using different coloured threads and ribbon. Please check out the colours before committing to buy also the colours may vary from individual monitors.

Dorset Buttons originated in Shaftesbury in the 1620s. They became a major cottage industry in Dorset creating employment and income for many families. By the 1780s, 4,000 women and children were employed in the industry. The industry came to an end in the 1800s with the introduction of a button making machine.
